Cloud projects that get workloads where they need to go

Many new clients need more than day to day managed support — they need existing workloads moved, modernized, or something new like AI Services. Multi Cloud Consulting helps you clarify the project, choose the right destination (AWS, Azure, or private/hybrid), and introduce qualified clients to Rackspace Technology for migration and related professional services.

Managed AWS · Managed Azure · Private & hybrid

Cloud migrations for workloads that already exist

If you are already running applications somewhere — on-prem, colocation (colo), dedicated servers, another cloud, or a mix — a managed cloud decision often starts with a migration. That is normal. It is also where bad advice gets expensive: wrong platform, wrong method (lift-and-shift vs. refactor), or a cut-over with no validation plan.

We help you think through the move in plain language, then introduce Rackspace Technology when a professional migration engagement is the right next step.

Who migrations are for

Strong fit

  • SMBs and mid-market teams with existing workloads that need to land on AWS, Azure, private cloud, or a hybrid mix
  • Companies comparing “hire a migration team” vs. “work with a specialist partner”
  • Buyers who want an independent advisor before they commit to a multi-month move
  • Canadian or U.S. organizations that also want a path to ongoing managed support after cut-over (not a one-and-done dump)

Probably not a fit

  • You only need a DIY how-to guide with no partner engagement
  • The real need is custom application development (different conversation)
  • There is no real workload or timeline — we will say so rather than invent a project

What a Rackspace-led migration typically involves (high level)

Exact scope depends on what you and Rackspace Technology agree. On this site we stay high level and do not invent product SKUs or SLAs. Public Rackspace migration framing commonly includes ideas like:

  1. Assessment & strategy — Catalog applications, infrastructure, and dependencies; prioritize workloads; estimate fit and rough consumption/cost direction.
  2. Target architecture — Choose destination platform(s) — AWS, Azure, private/hybrid, or a mix — with security and risk requirements in mind.
  3. Migration method — Per workload: lift-and-shift, refactor toward cloud-native patterns, or another path that fits risk and timeline.
  4. Workshops & planning — Align stakeholders on sequence, tools, and a manageable starting workload before a big-bang move.
  5. Migrate, validate, cut-over — Move applications and data, validate accessibility and behaviour, then cut over and go live with a clear handoff.

Many clients then want managed support on the destination platform so day-two operations are not left to a thin internal bench. That is where our three cloud-option landings connect.

Destination matters — link to cloud options

A migration is not “to the cloud” in the abstract. Destination choices change cost, compliance, skills, and managed-support options:

  • Managed AWS → — including Fanatical Support® for AWS where that path fits
  • Managed Azure → — including Fanatical Support® for Microsoft Azure where that path fits
  • Private & hybrid → — dedicated, private, or hybrid when public cloud alone is not enough

On the first call we help you decide where as much as how.

Modernization (when “lift and shift” is not enough)

Some workloads should move as-is. Others benefit from modernization — re-platforming, refactoring, or cleaning up architecture so the new environment is cheaper, safer, or easier to operate.

In short: we help you decide whether modernization should be part of the project or a later phase. When it is in scope, we introduce Rackspace Technology for the professional services conversation — we do not run a Multi Cloud “modernization factory.”

Keep expectations honest: modernization takes more discovery than a simple lift-and-shift. We will say so early.

Managed AI paths — advice first, not an AI product company

Some clients ask about AI/ML workloads, platforms, or managed AI offerings alongside cloud and migration work. Multi Cloud Consulting can help you clarify the ask and whether a Rackspace Technology path is relevant — then introduce qualified clients when it is a fit.

What this is not: Multi Cloud Consulting is not repositioning as an “AWS Managed AI” brand, and we do not build or sell our own AI products. AI stays a short, careful part of this projects hub — migrations remain the lead.

If your primary need is managed AWS, Azure, or private/hybrid ops (not AI), start on those landings instead.

Clear roles

You work with Role
Multi Cloud Consulting Advise on fit (migrate vs. stay, destination platform, modernization vs. lift-and-shift, whether AI is in scope); qualify; introduce you to Rackspace Technology
Rackspace Technology Deliver migration / professional services and (when agreed) ongoing managed support under their customer agreement

What happens next

  1. Short discovery call — What you run today, where it needs to go, timeline, risk tolerance, and whether managed support after cut-over matters.
  2. Recommendation — Migrate now / later / not this path; AWS vs. Azure vs. private/hybrid; whether modernization or AI should wait.
  3. Introduction — If it is a fit, we introduce you to Rackspace Technology as a qualified referral for migration and related services.
  4. Their process + yours — You evaluate scope and commercials with Rackspace. We remain available for clarifying questions about the referral path.

No pressure pitch. The goal is a clear project decision.

FAQ

Are you Rackspace?

No. Multi Cloud Consulting is an independent advisor and Rackspace Technology Associate Partner based in Vancouver, BC.

Who actually runs the migration?

Rackspace Technology delivers the migration and professional services under their agreement. We advise, qualify, and introduce.

Do you only migrate to AWS?

No. We qualify destinations the same way — AWS, Azure, or private/hybrid — based on workload fit, not a single-cloud bias.

Can migration and managed support be part of the same journey?

Often yes. Many buyers want a plan for day-two operations after cut-over. We can discuss managed paths on the destination platform in the same conversation.

Will you host Rackspace whitepapers or service PDFs on this site?

No. Partner collateral stays with Rackspace unless we have written permission to redistribute it.

Do you build custom AI products?

No. Managed AI on this page means advice and, when appropriate, an introduction to relevant Rackspace paths — not Multi Cloud shipping AI software.

Will you share fixed migration pricing here?

Migration and professional-services pricing depends on footprint, method, and scope. We discuss expectations on a call rather than post one-size numbers.

What should I prepare for the first call?

A rough inventory of workloads (even a spreadsheet), current hosting, constraints (compliance, downtime windows), destination preferences if any, and timeline.
